What about the game?
The PlayStation exclusive off-road racing game first surfaced on the Sony PS3 in 2006, it offers an off-road racing game which is set in the desert and brings off road mayhem where many classes of vehicles come together in one race.
When you first play Motor Storm you’ll pick a race to participate in and then you’ll have to choose a vehicle to race with, one thing you’ll notice when the race first starts is that the many classes of Motor Storm race together, from the fast agile motocross bikes to Paris Dakar style big Rig Racers.. This can make your choice of vehicle very interesting as the bigger vehicles certainly like to bully the smaller ones!
Luckily you have a boost feature which I didn’t realise until the 3rd race in the video, this will help you climb the standings and escape trouble or just completely get you into more trouble!
Expect off road style handling and plenty of crashes, the controls for me at least did take a time to familiarise with, eventually getting control on the slippery mud and dry desert surfaces.
Overall once I had discovered the Nitro was to be used not awarded as in so many other games, the game was a little bit easier to get a top 3.
If you are like me and moving away from newer games who just churn out the same old slightly varied content every year, and charging a premium for un-inspiring content. Then grabbing a copy of Motor Storm at a mere fraction of the price of a new game should be a given as the game stands up well today , it still looks and runs very well and is good fun.
