What about the game?

You take on the war against Skynet in this 2002 release, Right off the bat the games overall look is very washed out from colour, I believe it may the intention to create that apocalyptic look but it does come out as very grey.

The gameplay style is somewhat a mix of 3D and fixed , or at least a variant ‘on rails’ type of camera movement, which you do have some control over, almost like the fixed angles of the old Resi evil games of the past (PlayStation 1 era). Character movement is a little awkward to start with, after a while it settles in.

You start by entering a training area, where the game goes over the basics, movement, weapons and targeting , all sections are timed and some sections I did well in, but others not so much. Luckily you can skip them and jump to the main game.

After basic training you will move onto the main game and this starts with an assault on the base by Skynet, where you’ll have to help people escape whilst fight off the hordes of terminator robots, this point is were I stopped so the rest is still to be discovered.

When we look at one of these older games we should keep in mind that games have evolved massiviley over the last 20+ years and games like this will show their age, the problem is that we’ve forgotten how to play these older games and they often seem janky and confusing, in fact we probably may have eased up on a game 23 years ago as it was new and exciting!

With that in mind, with Terminator Dawn of Fate we shouldn’t be over critical and if you like the subject it actually may be a good story and worth a playthrough.

Check out the video of me playing the game on YouTube, I have one ask if you do, please could you subscribe, Thanks greatly , Kezz
